The news agency Anadolu Agency reported that a total of 65 migrants were detained on Saturday. The Anadolu report identified Bangladeshis as 'irregular migrants'. The police claim that they all crossed the border illegally.
Generally the young, less educated and unemployed are called 'irregular migrants'.
65 migrants from Turkey have been detained by the Provincial Security Directorate. 12 of them are Bangladeshis.
They were arrested on Saturday (September 5) in the eastern province of Van.
The migrants were detained after challenging a suspicious minibus in Ipekulu district, the provincial security directorate said in a statement.
Besides 12 Bangladeshis, there were 24 citizens of Afghanistan, 20 of Pakistan, seven of Syria and two of Myanmar in the 15-passenger bus.
