Principal of Pabna Government Edward College on charges of embezzlement through fraud and deception. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Humayun Kabir Majumdar.
ACC Pabna Regional Office Deputy Assistant Director Mostafizur Rahman filed this case at Pabna Sadar Police Station on Monday (June 7) afternoon as the plaintiff.
According to the statement of the case, Principal Humayun Kabir Majumder himself approved the transfer of Tk 56 lakh 8 thousand 986 from the college student council fund, development fund, miscellaneous fund and admission program and form fill fund by making fake applications and vouchers for dishonest purposes and forgery. He stole and embezzled from the college gate branch. Which is an offense punishable under Section 409/420/467/468/471 of the Penal Code and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Director of ACC Pabna Regional Office, the plaintiff in the case, said that the case was filed on Monday on the instructions of the ACC head office as the matter was proved in several rounds of investigation since 2017.
Mozammel Haque, deputy director of Pabna regional office of ACC, said that the investigation is going on in various other matters of abuse of power and corruption of the principal. He also said that he will be arrested at any time if required by the case.
