Dhaka University marketing department professor Morshed Hasan Khan has been fired for writing a controversial column insulting Bangabandhu.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. on Wednesday. Md. This decision was taken in the syndicate meeting held under the chairmanship of Akhtaruzzaman.
Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Muhammad Samad told the media that the constituted tribunal agreed to the recommendation of Attorney General Mahbubey Alam as a syndicate member of the university subject to investigation.
Based on this, the syndicate decided to dismiss him from the job.
He (Morshed Hasan) cannot remain as a teacher in the university to be exempted from service. However, he will get the provident fund and other benefits that he is supposed to get as a teacher at the end of the university service.
The Chhatra League accused the Chhatra League of insulting Bangabandhu, distorting the history of the liberation war and making arrogant statements about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in an article titled Jyotirmay Zia written by him in the Independence Day issue of a national daily on March 26, 2018.
Later, along with the movement, the leaders and activists of BCL gave a memorandum to the vice-chancellor demanding his dismissal. Dhaka University Teachers' Association also condemned and protested the writing.
