Abdus Sukkur runs a rickshaw in Cox's Bazar to support his family. Like other days, he went out in search of livelihood on 08/08/2021. Around 11:30 a.m., he was standing on the street with a rickshaw looking for passengers at a place called Bazarghata in the city. At that time, a passenger named Shukur Ali came and asked him, "Is this rickshaw going to Chirangar Bazar?" In reply he said "I will go sir". When asked how much is the rent, he said 200 taka. Passenger Shukur Ali got angry after hearing the fare. He started misbehaving with the rickshaw driver Abdus Shukkur as the fare was too high. At one point, Kill jumped on him and started punching him. Note that the said market is far from that place and the road leading there is also very broken.
At one point, the passenger Shukur Ali became even more angry and dragged the rickshaw driver Abdus Shukur across the muddy road. Seeing this inhuman scene, some passers-by came forward and saved him from the hands of Shukur Ali. This entire incident was captured by another conscious citizen present at the scene on his mobile phone. He later shared it on social media and drew the attention of the administration seeking justice for the brutal torture of the innocent rickshaw puller.
The video spread on social media came to the attention of the Cox's Bazar district police within a short period of time. Thereafter, Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, Cox's Bazar City Outpost and District Intelligence Branch swung into action to nab the accused Shukur Ali and rescue the victim rickshaw driver Abdus Shukkur. With their combined efforts, the police managed to arrest the accused Shukur Ali in less than an hour. On the other hand, the victim rickshaw driver was also traced. Necessary legal action is being taken against the accused based on his complaint
