Former US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against the world's three largest technology companies, Facebook, Google and Twitter.
His complaint is that he is being subjected to censorship. Besides, the institutions have been charged with unfair surveillance and obstruction of free speech. Trump has filed a separate case against each institution.
In the lawsuit, Trump accused the institutions of violating the right to free speech enshrined in the First Amendment to the US Constitution. Donald Trump said, 'These three tech companies unfairly screened and monitored his and other conservatives' speeches before they were published.
On Wednesday, the former president of the United States said, "We are petitioning the District Court of Miami in Southern Florida to immediately stop the illegal and shameful testing and surveillance of social media companies against the American people."
Facebook, Twitter and Google and the three chief executives of the companies respectively Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and Sundar Pichai are the main defendants in all these cases.
Trump's accounts were suspended from all of these social media platforms after he incited supporters to riot at the Capitol building last January. However, Trump claims that he is a victim of censorship by these institutions. Trump has also applied to withdraw the censorship imposed on him in the case.
