The American people have given us the right to act on covid-19, climate change and racism

Democratic candidate Joe Biden is steadily moving towards getting the 270 electoral votes needed to be elected president. However, as the counting of votes is not over yet, the Trump camp is also hopeful.

A few days after the election, it is still not clear who will be the next US president. Electoral frontrunner Joe Biden, however, thinks he is going to be the next US president.

He expressed this sentiment in a speech Friday night to vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris at his campaign center in Wilmington.

"The numbers (votes) give us a clear direction," Biden said. We are going to win, even though the final results of the elections are not yet with us.

"A large portion of the American people has given us the right to take action on COVID-19, climate change and systemic racism," he said of the vote.

In the speech, the former vice president urged everyone to 'keep calm and be patient'.
