Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced five new incentive packages worth Tk 3200 crore to help low-income people affected by the restrictions imposed due to the ongoing spread of Corona.
He announced the financial package on Tuesday. This information was given in a circular signed by Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
There are five new packages
A. Allocation of Tk 450 crore for financial assistance of Tk 2,500 cash per person for daily labourers, transport workers, petty traders and shipping workers.
b. Tk 150 crore allocated for conducting special OMS program in 813 centers for 14 days from 25th July to 7th August with the aim of helping the low income people in urban areas.
c. 333- Special allocation of Tk. 100 crores in favor of District Commissioners for providing food assistance in view of public demand.
d. An additional allocation of Tk 1,500 crore has been allocated to the earlier allocation of Tk 3,200 crore to provide loan assistance (at 4 percent interest) through Palli Sansthan Sansthan Bank and PKSF for financing employment creation activities in rural areas.
e. Tk 1,000 crore has been allocated to provide working capital loan assistance through banks at 4 percent interest for the purpose of paying the salaries and allowances of employees for hotels, motels, theme parks in the tourism sector.
