Bangladesh Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said that Awami League is like a piece of diamond, every time it breaks it shines brighter, it shines anew. He said that the Awami League has been hit repeatedly. But every time the blow came, the Awami League turned around.
On the occasion of the founding anniversary of Awami League, he said this in a discussion meeting organized by video conference from Ganobhaban on Wednesday afternoon.
Our promise was that my father made Bangladesh independent. Bangabandhu's dream and thought about Bangladesh can never fail. Attempts have been made to thwart it. Attempts have been made to erase the name of Awami League. Ever since the Awami League was created, the Muslim League has tried to destroy the Awami League.
Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Ziaur Rahman, General Ershad and Khaleda Zia each came to power and wanted to destroy Awami League. How many people have they killed? The goal is to end the Awami League. Why? Awami League has brought freedom, if Awami League is in power, the poor and miserable people will get food, shelter, medical treatment and education. It is probably not the choice of some classes.
Urging the critics to be patient, the Prime Minister said that the world situation should be understood. We are phasing out that every person gets the vaccine and we will do that, everyone will get the vaccine.
When the pandemic broke out in India, we had some trouble when they stopped exporting vaccines. We have now started buying vaccines again. We are taking steps to ensure that the vaccine reaches every person in the country and that is what we will do.
Sheikh Hasina said, whenever the coronavirus appeared, we contacted every place for the vaccine. Where is the vaccine available? Many countries in the world have not yet given the vaccine. But we have started bringing vaccines.
