Three days before Eid al-Adha, bank transactions will continue from 10 am to 4 pm. Banks will remain open till 6 pm to complete other operations. However, bank transactions will continue from 10 am to 1.30 pm again within the restrictions after Eid.
On Tuesday, a circular signed by General Manager of Bangladesh Bank's Offsite Supervision Department, Anwarul Islam, has been sent to the managing director and chief executive of the scheduled bank with necessary instructions.
In order to facilitate the sale of export bills of various organizations related to garment industry before Eid and the payment of salary-bonus and other allowances to the workers-officers-employees working in garment factories, garment industries manufactured by scheduled banks are located in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chittagong. Transactions will continue from 10 am to 2 pm on July 17 and 20 in the respective branches. Post-transaction ancillary activities will continue till 3:30 pm. In this case, adequate security is ensured in those branches and hygiene rules are strictly ensured including wearing of masks.
Bank transactions will continue from 10 am to 1.30 pm during the restrictions from July 25 to August 5 (excluding weekends) in view of the Covid-19 infection situation. Post transaction ancillary activities will continue till 3 pm.
