Despite the corona situation, the ninth session of the National Parliament is sitting tomorrow on Sunday.

The session will be adjourned later. Several important bills are expected to be passed in the current session. Currently, 14 bills are awaiting passage in Parliament. But it will be difficult to pass the bills in this short session. Because this session will be short like the previous two sessions. Which can last for a maximum of five days.

A decision has been taken to control the presence of members of Parliament and officials in the Parliament building area to avoid any risk in the Corona situation.

All those in charge of the session have been confirmed negative for coronavirus through sample testing. Already, the members of parliament who have joined parliament have also been tested for corona. Eight parliamentarians were infected with corona in the month of August.

So far 35 members of parliament have been infected with corona. Among them former Health Minister Mohammad Nasim under treatment on June 13 and Naogaon-6 Constituency Md. Israfil Alam died on July 27. Apart from this, more than two hundred employees of the Parliament Secretariat were infected with Corona.

Apart from corona test, physically ill and elderly people have been asked not to attend the session to avoid risk. Care should be taken that the presence of MPs in the session does not reach three digits.

The seating arrangement of the session also remains the same as the last two sessions. Members of Parliament will sit by maintaining a safe distance. Several seats around Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be kept vacant.

Wearing masks is mandatory for all participants. And everyone has to enter through the disinfection chamber. On entering the main building, the temperature must be measured in a thermal scanner.

Chief Whip of the Parliament Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury said that due to the Corona situation, the aspect of health protection is being strictly considered.

Sanitation rules will be followed as in budget session. No one will be allowed to perform duties unless necessary. Public entry will be prohibited in the session.

Earlier, the budget session, which started on June 10 under strict precautions, ended on July 9 in just nine working days. Since the next session has to be held within 60 days of the end of a session, the President said. Abdul Hamid convened this session.
