The special session of Parliament has started following health precautions amid the Corona situation.

The main formalities of the special session organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Mujib year-2020) began.

Ahead of the session, there was a festive mood in the entire parliament building. Among these, the President. Abdul Hamid gave a memorial speech.

Speaker at 6 pm on Monday. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the special session.

Welcoming all those present with their seats in the session hall, the speaker said, this special session of the Parliament is to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

At the same time, he quoted poet Shamsur Rahman's poem 'Blessed is the man' and said, Blessed is the man who rises from the swimming water of the river / You are more alive than the living with the rising of the sun.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with corona negative members of Parliament took their seats in the session room before the scheduled time.

However, opposition party leader Roshan Ershad and parliament deputy leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury were absent.

Most of the members attended the session after black mujib court. President Md. As Abdul Hamid entered the Parliament House at 6:07, the President's arrival orchestra sounded the bugle.

Then the National Anthem was played as per custom. Everyone in the session room, including the government and opposition parliamentarians, stood up and honored the president.

Then the President took the seat placed on the right side of the Speaker. Then, the rare speech given by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu on his historic homecoming on January 10, 1972 was shown in the Parliament House.

Then the entire session fell into a dead silence. During Bangabandhu's speech, the MPs greeted him by clapping his hands. When the speech was over, the members of parliament chanted 'Jai Bangla-Jai Bangabandhu'.

Then at 6:34 minutes, the president spoke standing on the dias placed on the left side of the speaker. MPs welcomed him with applause.

The President saw Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in the Legislative Assembly as the youngest member of the Constituent Assembly and the country's first parliament.

It is reflected in speech. After the speech, the Speaker presented Bangabandhu's autobiographical books to the President on behalf of the Parliament.

Later the President left the session room. The session is adjourned for 15 minutes. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on the President during the break.

After the break, MP (Leader of Parliament and Prime Minister) Sheikh Hasina, elected from Gopalganj-3 Constituency, proposed a general resolution under Rule 147 to discuss the active and colorful life of Bangabandhu.

About 60 MPs from the government and the opposition parties will discuss the proposal in the parliament. After four consecutive days of discussion, the proposal will be accepted by voice vote next Thursday.

To commemorate Bangabandhu's birth centenary (Mujib Year-2020), the special session of Parliament has started from last Sunday. There was tight security around the session.

Officials, employees and other invited guests entered the parliament by showing corona negative certificates. On the occasion of the session, the Sangsad Bhavan was decorated colorfully.
