The result of HSC and equivalent assessment 2020 has been declared without conducting the examination due to the situation arising due to the pandemic.
1 lakh 61 thousand 807 students got GPA-5 this year in Autopass HSC and equivalent examination. Last year this number was 47 thousand 286.
This year the percentage of GPA-5 is 11.83 percent. Last year this rate was 3.54 percent.
The number of students in HSC and equivalent examinations this year was 13 lakh 67 thousand 377. The pass rate is 100% as there is no examination.
The SSC and equivalent exams were scheduled to be held from April 1 last year, but they could not be held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For that reason, HSC result 2020 has been determined by averaging the results of eighth grade and SSC results. The law also had to be amended to publish results without examination.
October 7 Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni announced the cancellation of HSC exams. He said that the grade marks of HSC will be determined by evaluating the candidates based on the results of JSC-JDC and SSC-equivalent examinations.
By amending the law, on January 26 this year, the government issued the Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Act-2021, Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Amendment) Act-2021 and Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board (Amendment) Act-2021 in the form of gazette.
