Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that an agreement has been signed with India-Myanmar to prevent drug trafficking. He said that drugs are being smuggled from neighboring countries. Some nefarious circles are trying to create and expand the drug market in the country.
He said these words in a virtual discussion meeting on the occasion of 'International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2021' on Saturday afternoon.
Home Minister said drug trafficking is a global problem.
Due to this problem, Bangladesh is under extreme threat. We need to build a strong social movement with people from all walks of life against the drug lords.
As directed by the Prime Minister, we have taken a stand against militancy and terrorism, adopting a zero tolerance policy, but have been able to bring it under control if not completely suppressed.
In the same way, the whole society should stand up against drugs. He mentioned that the war against drugs should be adopted on the principle of zero tolerance.
