In recognition of his heroic, glorious and courageous role in the Great War of Liberation and his subsequent leadership in re-establishing multi-party democracy, modern and self-reliant Bangladesh, Martyr President Ziaur Rahman High School was established by the then Mayor of Dhaka, Sadek Hossain Khoka, in the name of Ziaur Rahman in Malitola, Dhaka in 2006.
The current government has taken a shameful decision to change the name of the school.
He made this comment in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made this statement regarding the change of name of 'Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman High School' located in Malitola, Old Dhaka.

The vindictive face of the Awami government is gradually becoming clear to the people through the lies and slander against Begum Khaleda Zia, including the deletion of Ziaur Rahman's name from various establishments.
Ziaur Rahman was a successful president of this country. And this is the cause of the Awami League's infighting.
