Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) has decided to stop all types of passenger vehicles and passenger transport on ferries.
In a notification on Friday, it is said that from July 9, all types of passenger cars and passenger transport will be stopped on ferries.
However, according to strict hygiene rules, only emergency goods vehicles and ambulances will be allowed to cross, said BIWTC.
