BSMMU is a field hospital with 1,200 beds

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has a field hospital with 1,200 beds to treat patients affected by coronavirus.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek gave this information in a press conference organized after visiting Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall of the University on Saturday.

He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to increase the number of beds for patients affected by coronavirus in all the hospitals of the country. Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall of BSMMU has beautiful infrastructure.

As a result, it will be possible to open a 1,000 to 12,000 bed hospital with 4,000 ICU and 4,000 HDU in the field hospital.

In the last 10 days, at least 90,000 coronavirus patients have been identified. Recently patients have increased 8 times. 80% of the beds are occupied. The number of patients is increasing day by day. Hospitals do not produce patients with coronavirus. From where the coronavirus is spreading like Oligli, tea shop, market - you have to pay attention there. People should be forced to follow hygiene rules. The way to get rid of this virus is to control it.

About 1.5 million doses of vaccine from different sources including 1 million doses of Oxford-Astrazeneca produced by Serum Institute of India, 50 million doses of Sinovac from Chinese drug manufacturer Sinopharm, 60 million doses of vaccines from American drug manufacturer Pfizer BioEntech will be available in the next one to two months.
