On Monday, the court ordered to freeze (suspended) the bank accounts of three organizations of the former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Saeed Khokon. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kaish gave this order. At the same time, the court ordered the suspension of the bank accounts of his wife Farhana Alam, sister Shahana Hanif and mother Fatema Hanif. ACC counsel Mahmud Hossain Jahangir informed this information.
On Sunday, ACC Deputy Director Jalal Uddin Ahmed applied for the suspension of three bank accounts of Saeed Khokon, two of his wife Farhana Alam, two of his sister Shahana Hanif and one of his mother Fatema Hanif. In view of the application, the court ordered the suspension of their eight bank accounts. In protest, Saeed Khokon organized this press conference on Tuesday.
A huge amount of money has been transacted in those bank accounts. In order to properly investigate the complaint, it is necessary to freeze the bank accounts on an urgent basis to ensure that money cannot be withdrawn, transferred or transferred from the bank accounts.
The application also mentions that the accused tried to transfer the money to the said bank account, which came up during the investigation. Transfer or transfer of the immovable property till settlement of the complaint will cause huge loss to the state.
The other accused in the case are Yusuf Ali Sardar, former Chief Revenue Officer of Dhaka South City, former Deputy Assistant Engineer Majed, Kamrul Hasan, Helena Akhter, Atiqur Rahman Swapan and Walid.
