State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said that due to the rise in the number of coronavirus infections, a major decision including a nationwide lockdown may come at any time.
In a circular on Thursday, the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has recommended a complete 'shirtdown' for at least 14 days across the country to prevent the spread of the disease from going out of control and loss of life.
6 thousand 58 people have been diagnosed and 81 people have died in the country on Thursday (June 24) amid an increase in infections over the past few days.
In this regard, Public Administration State Minister Farhad Hossain told the media in the afternoon that we will take their recommendations into active consideration. We will do whatever is necessary to minimize it.
We are trying to reduce infection in several ways. Trying to control it with local regulations. We will do what is necessary considering the situation.
The State Minister for Public Administration said that since the infection is on the rise, daily infections have crossed six thousand. The government is monitoring the situation very closely.
Decision will be taken according to the situation. We will take the appropriate decision in that case. We can take any decision at any time considering the situation.
Last time the infection crossed seven thousand. We have already imposed strict restrictions in the areas around Dhaka. Still people are coming to Dhaka. Buses, trains, passenger boats have already been stopped. But we have taken these decisions after observing the situation.
