The Left Democratic Alliance has expressed deep concern over the decision to lift the lockdown. The central management council of the alliance strongly condemned and protested that decision and said that when the number of corona infections and deaths in the country is continuously increasing, it is an extremely arbitrary action of the government to withdraw the lockdown without taking the opinion of the national advisory committee to deal with the corona formed by the government itself.
In a statement on Thursday, the leaders of the central management council of the alliance, including the coordinator of the Left Alliance, Basad leader Bazlur Rashid Feroze, made this comment. They said, due to the unplanned and short-sighted decision of the government, corona infection will spread everywhere in villages and cities; Inadequacy of health care system at the district and upazila level will only increase the death march. When the situation cannot be controlled even with a strict lockdown, lifting the lockdown is an extremely suicidal decision.
The National Advisory Committee of Public Health experts was of the opinion that at least 2/3 more weeks of strict lockdown restrictions to keep the situation under control, the decision taken in disregard of expert opinion will increase infections and deaths.
In the statement, canceling the ill-advised decision to lift the lockdown and enforcing the lockdown, keeping the working poor people at home with one month's food and Rs 500 in cash; Prompt corona vaccination to all adult citizens, at least one lakh daily corona tests; Provision of corona test up to village-union; At upazila level, establishment of field hospital with the help of army medical corps, ensuring central oxygen supply in all district hospitals, increasing the number of highflow nasal cannula, ICU beds and general beds, hiring sufficient skilled manpower including doctors-nurses were demanded to ensure universal health care.
