The police have sought a 10-day remand after arresting eight people, including the owner, in the death of 52 workers in a terrible fire at the factory of Hashem Food and Beverage, a subsidiary of Sajib Group in Rupganj. Later they were granted 4 days remand there.
The court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Fahmida Khanam granted the remand on Saturday afternoon. Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Asaduzzaman confirmed this information.
Inspector Humayun Kabir of Rupganj police station, the investigating officer of the fire case, said that eight people have been arrested under Sections 302, 326, 325, 323, 324, 307 on charges of murder and murder and an unknown accused has been made in this case.
The eight arrested are the chairman of Sajib Group. Abul Hashem (70), his son Hasib bin Hashem alias Sajeeb (39), Tarek Ibrahim (35), Tauseeb Ibrahim (33), Tanjim Ibrahim (21), Shahan Shan Azad (43), Mamunur Rashid (53) and Md. Salahuddin (30).
Earlier, it may take 1 month to know the identity of 52 people who died in the terrible fire at Sejan juice factory in Rupganj, Narayanganj. Mohammad Masud Rabbi Sabuj, DNA examiner of Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital has given such information.
