To prevent the spread of corona infection in the country, a limited lockdown has been imposed from next Monday and a total lockdown has been imposed across the country from Thursday. All public and private offices will be closed during this time except for emergency services.
This decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday evening. However, financial institutions will remain open till June 30.
A strict lockdown was announced from Monday, but the decision has been slightly modified. Public transport will be closed from Monday.
Lockdown will start on a limited scale in some areas including markets, hotels and restaurants. Some subjects will remain open during this time. And a seven-day nationwide lockdown will begin from July 1.
Earlier on Friday night, a government statement confirmed this strict lockdown. It is said that all types of vehicles will be stopped except those carrying emergency goods.
Only ambulances and medical vehicles will be allowed to ply. No one can go out of the house without an urgent reason. However, the media will be exempt from its reach.
