The 40th plenary session of the 76th meeting of the General Assembly on Wednesday approved the recommendation for the transition of Bangladesh from the least developed country (LDC) status.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal referred to this historic achievement as a great milestone in Bangladesh's development journey.
This unprecedented success has been achieved through the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the greatest Bengali of all time, the father of the nation of Bangladesh, the architect of great freedom, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said 'This is an international recognition of the unstoppable development journey of Bangladesh for more than a decade under the direction of the Prime Minister.
