Public awareness activities, distribution of free masks and implementation of hygiene rules in various upazilas and metropolises of Dhaka are continuing with mobile courts to prevent the recent increase in the spread of coronavirus.
Violators are being fined along with awareness campaigns and distribution of masks.
Public awareness activities, distribution of free masks and mobile courts were conducted to ensure mandatory wearing of masks in the upazilas of Dhaka district and in the populated areas of the metropolis on the initiative of the District Administration Dhaka on Monday.
15 people of Dhaka district administration in total 15 populated places including Kamalapur Railway Station, Airport Railway Station, Bangshal, Sadarghat, Secretariat, District Judge Court Area, Baitul Mukarram, Lalbagh, Mirpur, Shah Ali, Hatirjheel, Shahbagh, Zoar Sahara, Khilkhet in the five upazilas of the district and the metropolis. Awareness raising and miking are done to encourage wearing of masks under the leadership of the Executive Magistrate.
A total of 2,800 masks were distributed free of cost to poor/needy people. Apart from this, a total of 15 thousand 450 rupees fine was paid to 129 persons in 129 cases in Mobile Court as a punitive measure.
The police administration is also conducting awareness activities across the country including the capital Dhaka.
With the aim of increasing public awareness, the campaign of the mobile court of the district administration, Dhaka will continue.
