Last year, 13 lakh 65 thousand 789 students of 11 education boards were scheduled to appear for HSC and equivalent exams. The examination was scheduled to begin on April 1 of that year.

But when the outbreak of coronavirus started to increase, all the educational institutions of the country were closed from March 17. After that, in a press conference on October 7, Education Minister Dipu Moni announced the decision to cancel the HSC exams like the fifth and eighth grade.

The Education Minister said that the result of HSC 2020 will be determined by averaging the results of JSC and SSC. Higher secondary result will be declared by considering JSC-JDC result 25% and SSC result 75%.
