Taufiquzzaman Ratan Mahaldar is the member of Zilla Parishad in Ishwardi. He was elected general member of Ward No. 9 of Pabna Zilla Parishad election by getting a total of 42 votes in the kite symbol.
Polling through EVMs started peacefully from 9 am on Monday and polling continued till 2 pm. Police, Ansar and other members of the law and order forces are performing their duties in the peaceful polling.
In Ward No. 9, Ishwardi has a municipality and 7 unions with a total of 107 voters. A total of 105 voters were present.
Upazila Election Officer Ashraful Haque said that there was fair and peaceful polling in this centre.
Ishwardi upazila executive officer PM Imrul Kayes said that the law and order situation was healthy and normal. Polling was completed peacefully with everyone's cooperation.
Reacting after the victory, Taufiquzzaman Ratan Mahaldar told daily Kalbela that this victory belongs to everyone. I want to work together with everyone.
It is to be noted that Awami League leader Virmuktijoddha Abdur Rahim Pakon has been elected as the chairman in the Pabna District Council election as there is no rival candidate for the post of chairman. As a result, the election is only between the candidates for the posts of ordinary members and reserved members.
