A delegation of Hefazete Islami, a Qaumi Madrasa-based organization in Bangladesh, met Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and demanded an end to 'Dhalao arrests'. Home Minister-custody meeting was not fruitful
A Hefazat leader who participated in the meeting said this on condition of anonymity. Mahfuzul Haque, the brother of recently arrested Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque, was in the delegation led by the organization's secretary general Nurul Islam Jehadi.
The outfit's leaders also held meetings with a senior police officer and the head of an intelligence agency during the day before meeting the home minister at night.
However, there was no official comment on the meetings from either side. However, Nurul Islam Jehadi said on Monday that they will fight the legal battle for those arrested and at the same time they are trying to find a solution through negotiations.
