Lalmonirhat representative : In Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh Awami League held separate protest marches and protest meetings against Jabed Hossain Bakkar, former president of District Chhatra League and Sadar Upazila Vice Chairman, for making adverse comments and taunts on Facebook about the former state minister for primary and mass education and district Awami League president Bir Muktijodha Motahar Hossain MP. All member organizations of Awami League of Patgram upazila branch.
Today, Tuesday (November 9) at 4 pm, a protest march left the party office of the Upazila Awami League and ended at the medical intersection. At the end of the protest meeting, the disgruntled activists burnt the effigy of Javed Hossain Bakkar, the former president of the District Chhatra League.
District Awami League member Sajjad Hossain Sagar, Upzilla Women's Awami League President Rashida Begum, Upzilla Jubo League General Secretary Shahinur Islam Shahin, Chhatra League President Fahim Shahriar Khan Jihan, Upzilla Women's Vice Chairman Jasmine Nahar and all the leaders and workers of all organizations were present in the protest march and protest meeting.
Later in the afternoon, a protest march and protest meeting was held under the leadership of the Awami League member organizations of Patgram Upazila. It is to be noted that earlier, Jabed Hossain Bakkar, the former president of District Chhatra League and Sadar Upazila Vice Chairman, MP of Lalmonirhat-1 seat, former state minister and district Awami League president Bir Muktijoddha Motahar Hossain, had made negative and sarcastic comments on social media on Facebook. He also filed a case.
A few days after that, Jabed Hossain Bakkar again came on social media and made negative comments about the district Awami League president and general secretary. Within moments, when that Facebook post went viral, there was an immediate storm of condemnation against Jabed Hossain Bakkar. Immediately, in response to that Facebook post, many people called Bakkar as Tokai.
Bakkar deleted the Facebook post about the district president and general secretary from his timeline. When Jabed Hossain Bakkar was contacted to know about the post on Facebook, the number used by him was found to be closed.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the Awami organization at the district level are embarrassed by the activities of the former president of the District Chhatra League. The former leaders and activists of District Chhatra League sought the intervention of the administration to quickly bring under the law for such activities of Ehen Bakkar.
