A sub-inspector (SI) of police named Hasan Ali (28) committed suicide by shooting himself in the Ataikula police station in Pabna. His body was recovered from the roof of the police station on Sunday (March 21) morning.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Masood Alam confirmed the matter.
According to police sources, Hasan Ali joined Ataikula police station a month ago. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a pistol on the roof of the police station on Saturday (March 20) after 2 pm till Sunday morning. His body was found in the morning. His mobile phone SIM was found broken there. It is believed that he may have committed suicide out of anger and pride while talking on the phone about something romantic.
Ataikula Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Islam said, the actual incident is not yet known. The incident may have occurred due to family turmoil or love affair. However, the police are working to unravel the mystery. Details will be given later.
