At least 40 districts of the country are shivering in severe and moderate cold. People's lives have been disrupted. Divisional cities including Dhaka recorded the lowest temperature of the year on Monday (February 1).
The temperature in Dhaka is 10 degrees Celsius, which was 11.7 degrees Celsius yesterday. The weather department said that this temperature may continue for two more days.
According to the Department of Meteorology, the minimum temperature in the country was 5.5 degrees Celsius in Srimangal, yesterday the temperature was 5.5 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat of Rangpur division, which is the lowest this season.
Earlier on December 19, the lowest temperature was 6.6 in Rajarhat. Today the lowest temperature in the country is in Srimangal but in Chuadanga it is 5.7 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9:00 am on Monday has said that severe cold will pass over Nilphamari, Chuadanga and Moulvibazar districts, parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Barisal divisions and Rangpur and Khulna divisions and places in Sitakund, Rangamati, Comilla, Feni, Hatia and A mild to moderate cold current is moving over the Sandwip region and may persist.
According to the forecast, medium to dense fog may fall from midnight to morning and the country will remain dry.
According to the weather synoptic, an additional part of the sub-continental high pressure area is located over West Bengal and nearby areas. Seasonal normal low pressure is located over South Bay of Bengal.
