Sujan Chowdhury, Alikadam (Bandarban) representative: The upazila administration has conducted an operation to keep the prices of daily commodities at a bearable level on the occasion of holy Ramadan in Alikadam upazila of Bandarban.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Acting) and Executive Magistrate Kazi Shamim conducted the mobile court in Alikadam Bazar raw fish shop, fruit shop and daily goods shop from noon to afternoon on Wednesday (April 6).
Meanwhile, 12 shop owners were fined 24,000 taka for various reasons including not having a price list of daily products in the market, selling expired products, selling products at excessive prices and storing food in unsanitary conditions.
Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate said that every shop has been ordered to hang the price list, strict action will be taken if there is a complaint against any trader for charging higher prices of products.
He said that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, regular operations will be conducted to keep the prices of daily commodities bearable.
