A case has been registered at the police station regarding the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam of Dinajpur.
On Thursday (September 3) night before the day, the Ghoraghat police station accused 4 to 5 people, and the police took it into consideration and registered it as a case.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ghoraghat police station, Amirul Islam, said UNO's brother Md. Sheikh Farid Uddin filed this statement as plaintiff.
A three-member inquiry committee headed by the Additional Divisional Commissioner has been formed in connection with the attack on Wahida Khanum.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Saleh of Dinajpur at 8 pm on Thursday. Mahfuzul Haque confirmed this information.
Miscreants broke into the official residence of Dinajpur's Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam and attacked her late at night. They cut him with heavy and sharp weapons, seriously injured him and left him for dead and fled.
And when he came to save his daughter, Wahida's father also injured freedom fighter Omar Ali Sheikh (70). The seriously injured UNO and her father were rescued and sent to Rangpur Medical Hospital, from where UNO Wahida was sent to Dhaka for better treatment by air ambulance.
His first surgery was completed Thursday night at Neuroscience Hospital. The hospital's deputy director Professor Dr. Badrul Alam confirmed this in the media. He said, UNO Wahida's surgery has been completed.
After the surgery, he was kept under observation in the ICU. The situation can be said to be a little better than before, but he is still not free from fear.
