BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has condemned and protested the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam and her freedom fighter father Omar Ali.
Commenting that the government has no moral basis in running the state, he said, now government officials are also being subjected to violence.
He will say this in a statement sent to the media. He expressed deep concern over the brutal attack on WNO Wahida Khanum and her father.
In the brutal and demonic attack by terrorists on a top government official at the upazila level like Wahida Khanam, it is proved once again that this government has turned the country into a failed state.
The current government has no moral foundation. They want to prolong their power by resorting to terrorism.
Whoever the perpetrators are, earlier if they had been brought under the law and punished then the Ghoraghat upazila executive officer would not have been attacked. There is no law and order in the country now.
Murders, murders, injuries, money laundering, human trafficking, financial institution looting, tender betting and coercion to cover up the lawlessness of the nation, the series of bloody programs has been continued with the indulgence of the perpetrators. The latest victim is Ghoraghat upazila executive officer Wahida Khanam.
Anti-government parties and opinions are being suppressed in a bloody manner. Now government officials are also victims of their violence.
Miscreants are getting emboldened by the way the current government is committing extrajudicial killings since coming to power, including the killing of former army officer Major Sinha.
Whoever the perpetrators are, earlier if they had been brought under the law and punished then the Ghoraghat upazila executive officer would not have been attacked.
I do not know any language to condemn this brutal attack. Wahida Khanum was seriously injured in a heinous attack which is undoubtedly an ominous sign for a state.
I strongly demand immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the culprits. Also, I express my deepest condolences to the family members and relatives of Wahida Khanam.
