Md. Moshiur Rahman Bipul, Kurigram: An old man named Mohammad Ali (68) died after being hit by a motorcycle in Nageshwari, Kurigram. He is said to be the son of deceased Rahmat Ali of Purba Sapkhawa village of Raiganj Union of Nageshwari upazila.
The accident took place in East Sapkhawa area of Raiganj Union on Friday (March 18). According to relatives and local sources, Muhammad Ali was walking on Sapkhawa-Byaparihat road to the mosque next to his house to perform Jumma prayers on Friday afternoon.
At that time, Badsha Mia (14), son of Shahidul Islam of Damalgram Hajimor village of Raiganj Union, was driving a motorcycle at a reckless speed with two riders.
At that time, the driver lost control of the motorcycle and hit Mohammad Ali hard, injuring him seriously.
Later, the locals rescued him in critical condition and he died on the way to Rangpur Medical College (RAMEC) hospital through his family members.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Nabiul Hasan of Nageshwari police station confirmed this.
