Another 15 people have died while being treated in three separate hospitals in Khulna due to the deadly coronavirus and symptoms. They died between 8 am on Saturday (03 July) and 8 am on Sunday (4 July).
Among the 15 people who died, 7 people died in the Corona Dedicated Hospital of Khulna Medical College Hospital, 2 people died in the Corona Unit of Khulna General Hospital and 6 people died in the private Gazi Medical College Hospital.
Corona hospital focal person Dr. Suhas Ranjan Halder said that seven people have died in the hospital in the last 24 hours. The deceased are Begum (50) of Daulatpur, Khulna, Sheikh Ohiduzzaman (68) of Khanjahan Ali Road, Anwara (62) of Dolkhola area, Sardar Haibad Ali (55) of Khulna Sadar, Jahangir (52) of Funiabai area of Bagerhat and Ilyas Fakir of Dakbungo area of Bagerhat. 60) and one died with symptoms in the yellow zone of the hospital.
197 people are under treatment in the hospital. Out of which 102 people are in red zone, 41 people are in yellow zone, 20 people are in ICU and 20 people are in HDC. In the last 24 hours, 38 people have been admitted and 50 people have returned home after recovery.
Proprietor of private Gazi Medical College Hospital Dr. Gazi Mizanur Rahman said that 6 people died in 24 hours in the corona unit of the hospital. They are Zakir Hossain (50) and Saleha Begum (67) of Dumuria, Kazi Ahad (26) of Bagerhat, Aftab Hossain (76) of Baniakhamar in Khulna, Halima (55) and Mintu Biswas (81) of Narail. Another 115 people are under treatment in the hospital, of which 8 are in HDU. 23 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours, and 22 people have returned home after recovery.
Spokesperson of General Hospital's Corona Unit Dr. Kazi Abu Rashed said that two patients named Jahurul Haque (65) of Tutpara and Jahanara Begum (60) of Dumuria died in the corona unit of the 250-bed general hospital in Khulna. 65 people are under treatment in the hospital. 15 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours, and 18 people have returned home after recovery.
Focalperson Dr. Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital. Prakash Debnath said that 24 patients were admitted in the first 24 hours of opening the corona unit, but no one died.
