Corona infection is not being prevented in Khulna even with restrictions and 'lockdown' from time to time. The number of infected and dead is increasing by leaps and bounds. Another 17 people have died due to corona and symptoms while undergoing treatment in four separate hospitals in Khulna. They died between 8 am on Sunday (04 July) and 8 am on Monday (05 July).
Among the 17 people who died, 10 died in the Corona dedicated unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital, two in the Corona unit of Khulna General Hospital, one in the Corona unit of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital and four in the private Gazi Medical College Hospital.
Focal person of Corona Hospital Dr. Suhas Ranjan Halder said that 10 people have died in the hospital in the last 24 hours. The deceased are Abdul Jalil Khan (52) of Jessore's Keshavpur, Abdur Rauf (55) of Paikgacha in Khulna, Habibur Rahman (80) of Sonadanga, Rafeza (58) and Shubash (82) and five people died with symptoms in the yellow zone of the hospital.
Proprietor of private Gazi Medical College Hospital Dr. Gazi Mizanur Rahman said that four people died in the hospital's corona unit in 24 hours. The dead are - Sardar of Fakirhat of Bagerhat. Ali (65), MD Abdullah (77) of Tutpara, Khulna, Mosharraf Hossain (68) of Khalishpur and Pushpa Rani Bala (82) of Bagerhat.
Spokesperson of General Hospital's Corona Unit Dr. Kazi Abu Rashed said that two patients named Haider (75) from Batiaghata in Khulna and Mumtaz (60) from Jogipool area of Khanjahan Ali Police Station died in the corona unit of Khulna's 250-bed general hospital.
Focal person Dr. Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser specialized hospital. Prakash Debnath said that a patient named Oheduzzaman (66) died in the Corona Unit in the last 24 hours.
