Dinajpur's Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam, who suffered serious head injuries in the attack, was taken to the operation theatre.
He was taken to the operation theater of the Government National Institute of Neuroscience Hospital in Sherbanglanagar after 9pm on Thursday (September 3).
Wahida's colleagues present at the hospital confirmed this information to the media.
As the left side of the head was severely damaged, the doctors of Neuroscience Hospital in the capital informed about surgery. But his sense is a bit better than before.
Professor Zahid, a doctor at the National Institute of Neuroscience Hospital, said at around 4:00 p.m., he is in critical condition, if his blood pressure, pulse does not improve and if his level of consciousness deteriorates, then he is in a very dangerous condition, an accident may happen at any time. But we hope it will improve.
Before this, miscreants hacked and injured UNO Wahida and her freedom fighter father Omar Ali Sheikh at the government residence at around 2:30 on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, they were rescued and taken to Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital, where the seriously injured UNO was kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and given first aid. Later he was brought to Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered UNO Wahida Khanam, who was injured in the attack by miscreants, to be given better treatment.
