Bangladesh Railway has started 10 more pairs of commuter, mail, express and local passenger trains which were closed due to the outbreak.
These commuter, mail, express and local trains have started running on different routes in Dhaka and outside Dhaka in the second phase from Sunday morning.
On September 16, another 18 pairs of passenger trains will come down for the third phase.
Station Manager of Kamalapur Railway Station Mohammad Masud Sarwar confirmed the truth of this information to the media.
The trains which have started running are- Jalalabad Express on Chittagong-Sylhet-Chittagram route, Surma Mail on Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route, Dhaka/Noakhali Express on Noakhali-Dhaka-Noakhali route, Mymensingh Express on Chittagong-Bangabandhu Setu East-Chittagong route, Dhaka - Bhawal Express on Dewanganj Bazar-Dhaka route, Dhaleswari Express on Mymensingh-Bangabandhu Setu East-Mymensingh route, Chandpur Commuter on Chandpur-Laksam-Chandpur route, Noakhali Commuter on Noakhali-Laksam-Noakhali route.
Meanwhile, in order to ensure social and physical distancing of passengers, 50 percent of coach capacity tickets are being sold.
Commuter-mail-local tickets for most of these trains are given at the counter. However, 25 percent of inter-city train tickets are issued at station counters and 25 percent of tickets are issued online.
