Explosion in the mosque: 2 more people died

The death toll in Narayanganj mosque explosion has risen to 31 with the deaths of two others Nazrul Islam and Sheikh Farid under treatment.

They died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the morning another person named Abdus Chatter (40) died. Partha Sankar Pal, resident surgeon of the institute confirmed this.

A total of 37 people were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery following the blast during Esha prayers on Friday. Among them only one named Mamun Pradhan managed to return home after treatment.

The fire service believes that the explosion occurred due to gas pipeline leakage in the closed environment of the air-conditioned mosque.
