Today at 11 am, an awareness meeting against rape and abuse of women was held at the Ishwardi central office of Human Rights Trinamool Center under the chairmanship of Naik (retd) MA Quader, President of Ishwardi Upazila Branch. Central Secretary General of Trinamool Center Bir Muktijoddha prosecution witness of International Crimes Tribunal and member of Pabna District Witness Protection Committee Senior Journalist Atm Shahiduzzaman Nasim was present as the chief guest in the meeting.
In his speech, the chief guest said in his speech, "Who is a woman? A woman is my mother, sister, daughter, so a real man can never rape. Those who are rapists are not human beings, they are even lower animals." We congratulate the Hon'ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh that he has already made rape the maximum penalty of death. Kudos to your Honorable Judiciary for already expeditiously disposing of the Bagerhat rape case and awarding death sentence to 5 accused in the Tangail rape case.”
Social Welfare Affairs Secretary of the Central Committee Abdur Rashid, Education Affairs Secretary Moslem Uddin Master, Central Vice Chairman Bir Mukti Joddha Abdul Qayyum, Women Affairs Secretary Nipa Khatun and others also spoke at the meeting. All the speakers emphasized on creating awareness from the family to prevent rape and violence against women.
In the meeting, it was decided to felicitate newly elected MP of Pabna-4 constituencies, brave freedom fighter Nuruzzaman Biswas on behalf of the organization.
