It is prohibited to send patients to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital from upazila health complexes, including the general hospital located at the district headquarters of Barisal division. This decision has been taken to ensure the service of corona patients and to control the corona infection.
Divisional Health Director Vasudev Kumar Das confirmed the order from the Divisional Health Director's office on Thursday (July 08) night.
He said that corona infection is increasing day by day across Barisal. Out of which the number of infected in Barisal city is the highest. In all respects the general patient who is there. For example, patients with common injuries, colds or coughs. Good treatment is possible in district and upazila hospitals. Those patients have been banned from coming to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Already, 1,500 to 2,000 patients are admitted to the department of Shebachim Hospital every day. Apart from this, the number of outpatients is very high. Due to the increase in the number of these patients due to the increase in the number of these patients, the doctors have to struggle to deal with them.
Patients who can be treated in district or upazila hospitals are also flocking to this hospital. Apart from this, Shebachim Hospital has the only Corona dedicated unit. There is a risk of spread of coronavirus from here as well. This decision has been taken after considering all aspects.
However, this order will not be effective in the case of patients who are seriously ill or whose treatment is not possible in the district and upazila. They can be sent to Shebachim Hospital. Already letters containing the order have been sent to all district civil surgeons of the department, all district and upazila hospitals and upazila family planning officers.
