Justice Shahabuddin Ahmad Park in a new form at a cost of 16 crore rupees

The Justice Shahabuddin Ahmad Park known as Gulshan Tank Park has been renovated at a cost of Tk 16 crore.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Akiul Islam inaugurated the park.

19 ward councilor of DNCC. Mofizur Rahman presided over the opening ceremony and present - Indian High Commissioner Reeva Ganguly Das assigned to Bangladesh, United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Robert Miller, Awami League Party Reserve Member of Parliament Nahid Izhar Khan, Chief Executive Officer of DNCC Md. Salim Reza, Architect Iqbal Habib and others.

The nine-acre park has approximately 1,700 trees of various species, along with walking paths and bicycle lanes. There are five types of walking paths in this park.

Red brick, concrete block, green grass paths, WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) plank paths and elasto paver bike lanes.

A community park adjacent to the embassy area located in Gulshan area. Public involvement in the design of the park, after several rounds of meetings with the park users and representatives of various social organizations, by ensuring public involvement, various entertainment systems have been put in place for all the elderly men and women, young and old, children and teenagers.

A press release sent by Dhaka North City Corporation on Saturday informed that there are toilets (female and male), gymnasium with washrooms, prayer area with washrooms, canteen and six seating kiosks for park users.

A library with Bangabandhu Corner has been built in the park. Besides landscaping three pond ghats, a walkway with three viewing decks has been constructed around the reservoir.

A grass-covered green open-air stage (MPtheater) with a seating capacity of 400 people has been constructed on the north-western slope of the reservoir.

In front of the Muktamanch, a performance deck built on the reservoir and the artificial water fountain coming out of the reservoir have been installed.

Besides, an outdoor basketball ground has been constructed for the youth, there is also a badminton court. Apart from indoor and outdoor gymnasium various play rides are arranged for children (Purchasing process).  

As part of the well-managed park, CCTV control rooms have been installed from where the park can be monitored round the clock.

Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the entire park from the top by going up the stairs 4 floors from the side of this control room.
