The leaders and activists of New York Bangabandhu's soldier's organization held a protest and demonstration in New York against the destruction of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's sculpture. At a rally held at Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights on Saturday evening, speakers demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and exemplary punishment.
The speakers said that Babunagari and Mamunul Haque, the sportsmen of militancy and the supporters of this incident, should be arrested. They said that the hyenas did not put their hands on Bangabandhu's sculpture, they put their hands on the map of Bangladesh. The expatriates demanded to break their black hands and root out communalism from Bangladesh.
Speaking at the protest rally, Awami League leader Durud Mia Ronel, New York Metropolitan Awami League Organizing Secretary, Generation '71 President Shibli Chadek Shiblu, Bangladesh Club General Secretary Mahafuz Haider, Swachhasebak League leader Sakhawat Biswas, Turan Hossain, former Chhatra League leader Z.A. Joy, Zahid Hasan, Aminul Islam etc.
Protesting the destruction of Bangabandhu's statue, the president of the United States Awami League said that the criminals should be immediately arrested and punished. Chiddikur Rahman and Acting General Secretary Abdus Samad Azad.
