Five Indian youths were picked up by the Chinese army amid tensions in Ladakh

Five Indian youths have been abducted by the Chinese army amid tensions in Ladakh, India's Arunachal Pradesh Congress MP Ning Ering has alleged.

The five Indian youths were picked up by Chinese People's Liberation Army soldiers from the Nacho Circle area of the state's Upper Suvarnasiri district early in the morning. They went fishing in that area. All the abductees are from the local Tajin community.

Arunachal Police DG RR Upadhyay said five youths were abducted from a forest in Nacho Circle's Top-7 area early on Saturday morning.

However, no complaint was made to the police by the family of the abductees. The help of the Indian Army has been sought to rescue them.

The youths went to hunt fish in the forest of Sera-7 area early on Saturday morning. They were abducted from there. The abductees are Tanu Bakar, Prashat Ringling, Naguru Diri, Dongtu Ebia and Tach Singham.

According to police sources, the India-China Line of Actual Control is 100 km away from the Top-7 area from where the five youths were abducted.

Police in Arunachal Pradesh said they have sought the help of the Indian Army to get information about where the abductees have been taken.
